Getting started with your experiment
Working at the High Resolution Diffractometer (HRD)
- Login as user e10xxx at pc5099.
The steps 2. - 5. can be performed by clicking on the
UserPanel.
Then proceed with step 6.
- Open a terminal window and
start detector (MARCCD) software:
type:
StartMar3 enter (note: case sensitive input)
alternatively type: ssh e10xxx@marccd3 '.sls/X06SA/data/common/share/blcntl/marccd3_start'
-
Open another terminal window on pc5099
type: server_start enter
Wait until the server is ready for commands from the client, then
- Open a third terminal window on pc5099
type: gclient_devpc5099 enter
- Open a forth terminal window
type: alignment3
- Now you can change, if necessary, the standard settings of the beam stop
- or of the beam size and focus
- Read the current wavelength (energy)
- Change energy if necessary, using IDL.
In another window start IDL and type sete, value (in keV) or
sete, value, /wave (in Angstrom)
- Press the enter the hutch button in the GUI
- Mount the crystal
- Press the leave the hutch button in the GUI
- Sample alignment and loop centering
- Adjust data collection parameters
- Take first image
- View data and process data on pc3507
Micro Diffractometer (MD2)
At step 2 do the following:
2. Open a terminal window and
start detector (MARCCD) software:
type:
StartMar2 enter (note: case sensitive input)
